Lovett-Murray Cops Three Weeks
The Bombers will me missing defender Nathan Lovett-Murray for the next three weeks after the club chose to accept the ban handed down by the match review panel on Monday.
Lovett-Murray was charged with a level-three rough conduct charge for a late hit on Richmond forward Kayne Pettifer in Saturday night’s Dreamtime at the ‘G match.
“It’s disappointing because Nathan has been in really good touch,” Essendon coach Matthew Knights said on Tuesday. “Both offensively and defensively he has been providing us with a fair bit of impetus. He is going to be big loss for us.”
Knights also added that Courtenay Dempsey was in doubt for Sunday’s clash with Geelong after injuring his ankle late in the match against the Tigers.
However, Mark McVeigh and Hayden Skipworth are in line for senior recalls after getting through in the VFL last weekend. Andrew Welsh will play his first game for 2009, for Bendigo in the VFL this weekend, since severely injuring his ankle pre-season.

McVeigh will not play seniors next week. Barely spotted today.
Reimers was decent, apart from some scrubby kicks skidding through to their target rather than hitting the chest.
Hurley was led to the ball a bit in the first half but won pretty much all the actual contests. Not many opportunities up front in the second half.
