Elimination Final - Adelaide Match Preview
By TDSpartan WARNING: The following preview contains high traces of sesquipedalianism, which may lead to a majority of readers becoming discombobulated. Those perfunctory to my being a sesquipedalian, comb your merkin, ready the flapplejacks, and read on brave callipygians. Those who do not enjoy reading a plethora of slang terms for parts of the penis and other words, please stop being a cockchafer. Perhaps you are better suited engaging in a riveting game of chuck farthing, opposed to reading my preview. If you ignore the warning and proceed to give me a less than complimentary, floccinaucinihilipilification filled account of the preview, may your cremaster and epididymus exchange places. You have been warned. Forgive me, I tend to waffle on a bit, onto the Adelaide preview. »

Nobby Goes Into Overtime
The race for the Nobby Clarke Medal remains alive after none of the leaders polled votes in the Bombers win over Hawthorn in AFL Round 22 last Saturday afternoon. Jobe Watson remains 5 votes ahead of Andrew Lovett and will at worst share the award if the Bombers go down to Adelaide this weekend. Unsurprisingly Michael Hurley blitzed the voting for the match against the Hawks with Nathan Lovett-Murray and Ricky Dyson rounding out the Top 3. Voting in this award is open to all members of the BomberBlitz.com forum – so drop in and signup! Lloyd Cops 4 Weeks - Ryder & Lonergan Pinged Also
Essendon skipper Matthew Lloyd has been offered a four-match suspension for his bump on Hawk midfielder Brad Sewell. If the club chooses to accept the penalty, Lloyd will miss Essendons entire finals campaign starting this Friday night against Adelaide if they go all the way to the Grand Final or a few weeks of the 2010 AFL Season (if he does not retire) Lloyd was charged with a level five engaging in rough conduct offence. His previous poor record means that he can accept a four-match sanction with an early plea. If Essendon take Lloyd’s case to the AFL Tribunal and loses, Lloyd risks a six-game ban. Lloyds teammates Patrick Ryder and Sam Longergan have been offered one match suspensions for striking while Jarrod Atkinsons match day report was thrown out. Ten players were charged with engaging in the melee that followed Lloyds hit on Sewell. Hawks Luke Hodge, Michael Osborne, Brent Renouf, Grant Birchall and Campbell Brown were all offered $1200 sanctions with an early plea. Essendons Ryder, Nathan Lovett-Murray, Adam McPhee, Michael Hurley and Dustin Fletcher were all offered the same penalty. »

Essendon Accept Penalties
Essendon will not contest any of the charges laid against three of its players from the spitful AFL Round 22 clash against Hawthorn at the MCG last Saturday afternoon. The Bombers will now be without skipper Matthew Lloyd for 4 weeks, while Sam Lonergan and Paddy Ryder will miss this Friday nights AFL Elimination final against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium. »

Bendigo Finish The Year Winless
By David J Richardson It was tight till half-time, but Bendigo grossly failed to use a strong wind to the eastern end in the third quarter, and got murdered by Werribee’s good use of it in the final quarter. Werribee’s defence was laughably bad, repeatedly coughing up the ball and keeping Bendigo in it. As noted elsewhere, none of Nash, Skipworth, Jetta, Quinn and Bellchambers played. Daniher (kicked 2 goals, 2 points, and 1 out on the full — could easily have got all five, but otherwise barely had a touch) and Myers (played midfield, very well) were put in cotton wool at three-quarter time, shrinking the usable bench from the original five to just one. Scanlon and Holmes were amongst the best of the Bendigo-listed players.
