From The Armchair #24 - A Knights Tale VI - Culture Vulture
By No32
I have never been as gutted after a game as I was on Saturday night, and I was thinking about how myself and a couple of my mates were feeling in the last quarter and after the siren and was this a reflection of what we have been subjected to in the past 6 weeks.
Normally after a bad loss we are furious, anyone outside of our group cannot speak to us because we are “white lining” it. Yet Saturday night we were sitting their quiet, at times making bets on how many LeCras would kick and after the game joked about Caroline Wilson and Patrick Smith would be at home doing cartwheels seeing this result. Our demeanour and reaction to a loss is something we agreed we had never felt before. It was really bizarre and not the feeling we want to experience again, and this led me to think about Essendon Football Club, the continual reference to our brand, culture and what we stand for.

The game was played in beautiful conditions (26 degrees) apart from the breeze.
Essendon Listed Players Performance
Basher – Our best today in my opinion. Worked hard all day, just kept on running. Presented, tackled, won clearances, excellent attitiude and showed leadership. Definately a natural rover, reads the play well.
Myers – good in the first half, quiet in the 3rd and had a busy last quarter. Big body was effective getting the hard ball at the clearances. Noticed a few tricks when he has the ball and definately has a turn of speed when he needs it. Overall a good game in the best.
